Charles Ranger and Robert Stevenson Earn ABYC Certifications
Deltaville Boatyard Technicians Obtain Marine Diesel Certifications
Deltaville, Virginia — Deltaville Boatyard (DBY) Technicians Robert “Bobby” Stevenson of Gloucester and Charles “Charlie” Ranger of Middlesex have earned American Boat and Yacht Counsel (ABYC) Marine Diesel Engine Certifications in February. Both veteran marine mechanics spent a week preparing for the certification by attending the ABYC Marine Diesel class in Charleston, South Carolina prior to passing the comprehensive exam. This is Ranger’s first ABYC certification and Stevenson’s third.
Stevenson stated, “I owe my continued career success to the professional and experienced team here at Deltaville Boatyard.”
“I am very proud to be a member of both the ABYC community and Deltaville Boatyard’s team of consummate professionals,” Ranger said.
Keith Ruse, Owner of Deltaville Boatyard commented, “ABYC certifications and professional education are important to us. The safety of our clients and the quality of our work drive us at Deltaville Boatyard. Adhering to ABYC standards and earning ABYC certifications are two of the ways we can build safety and quality into each project.”
The American Boat and Yacht Council have been developing safety standards for the design, construction, equipage, repair, and maintenance of boats for over 60 years. “As an ABYC Standards Accredited service facility, Deltaville Boatyard considers it critically important to cultivate a staff of experienced marine technicians who strive to achieve certification through ABYC,” said Ruse.
